Greasy Skin - How to Care?

Greasy skin looks shiny, thick, slightly toneless, has coarse pores, pimples and other blemishes. An oily skin has excess oil or sebum which sometimes blocks the pores. If this oily blockage is not removed it hardens and white heads are formed. The whiteheads become blackheads when it gets oxidized by air. And if these are not taken care of then you get hard bumps under the skin which turn into pus filled pimples.

Vitamin B helps in checking the extra oil secretion of the skin. Brewers yeast tablets work wonders on a greasy skin. Add brewers yeast to your daily diet. This invaluable B vitamin will normalize the oil balance on the skin. Liver also helps in checking the oiliness of the skin if taken a few times in a week. Also eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Pork, fried and highly seasoned foods should be avoided and the diet should be restricted in fluids, sugar and salt.

Cleansing

Wash your face often with tap water and then pat dry. Here is a good cleanser. Put a teaspoon of skimmed milk in a cup, add a pinch of haldi and enough water to create a milky consistency. Apply with cotton wool allover your face and neck and then remove with facial tissue and blot dry.

In the night before going to sleep clean the face with cleansing milk and then apply astringent. Astringent will not only close the pores but will also regulate the sebaceous secretions.

In the morning, clean your face and then apply this refresher. Mix together lemon juice, water and cumber juices in equal quantities. Strain through a fine cloth. Freeze in the ice cube tray. Just run an ice cube lightly over your face, dry it under the fan and you will not only feel a cool tingling feeling but this will also alleviate the oily skin condition considerably.

You should steam your face at lease once a week. But you should not take steam for more than 1 minute. Now make a facial with brewers yeast. Mix one teaspoon each of yeast and milk powder with water to make a loose paste. Apply to a freshly cleaned skin that has been rinsed with water containing a few drops of apple cider vinegar. Let it dry completely and then rinse it. Every skin requires nourishing cream whether it is dry or greasy. Apply the cream, leave it on for 15 minutes and then remove with astringent. Astringent closes and tightens the pores. Also you can remove the extra grease with sprit of camphor.
