Home Remedies To Cure Blackheads
Blackheads are mostly caused by overactive sebaceous glands which produce excess oil. The oil comes up through the pores and if there is dirt or grime blocking the pores a bump forms under the skin. This hardens into a plug, the top of which when oxidized by air turns black and forms into blackheads.
Home remedies to get of blackhead
- The best home remedy for blackheads is to make a good lather of 1 tablespoon grounded almonds and water and gently work this foam over the face. Then use a shaving brush to clean the face and open clogged pores. Take care not to use the brush too energetically or you will irritate your skin. Wash off with ordinary tap water.
- A good cleansing of a very oily skin is a very effective measure in combating blackheads. A good cleanser for oily skin is ¼ cup shavings of baby soap, ¼ cup maize flour and ¼ cup grounded almonds. Put them in a container and use daily. Every day take a small amount in your hands and add enough water to make a smooth paste. Apply with a moistened shaving brush over your skin especially where the blackheads are concentrated. This action will help to dislodge the embedded dirt and oil which are breeding ground of blackheads. Rinse the face in warm and then cold Water. As a final rinse use a tablespoon of vinegar to a cup of water and splash on the face.
- Tomatoes are very useful when treating blackheads. The acid in the tomatoes thoroughly cleanses the skin thus keeping it free from clogged pores. Mash a tomato and strain through a fine sieve. Mix with grounded oatmeal and apply on the face. Leave on for 20 minutes and then wash off with tap water. You can also mix the paste with either curd or honey. You can also rub a slice of tomato over the place where you get blackheads, this helps to get rid of blackheads quickly.
- Besides, include vitamin A in your diet. Lack of this vitamin can create dead cells below the surface of the skin which clogs the oil glands and pores and prevents the normal lubrication of the skin.
- If numerous large and closely grouped superficial blackheads are present, you can remove them by taking an ordinary piece of adhesive plaster. Heat the plaster and apply firmly on the portion where you have blackheads in the night, in the morning pull them off with a sharp tug. This if properly used is very effective in removing blackheads. This procedure may be repeated, but it should not be used on sensitive and dry areas. After reaming the plaster, dab on the skin a moisturizing lotion or cream.
