Weight Control

The major purpose of weight control is to reduce the amount of fat in the body and to increase the amount of muscles. It is in reality a programmed fat control rather than weight control. When we eat, the food is used, stored or discarded. The body stores food, or calories as fat. The less of it we use then the more of it is stored in the body in the form of fat, thus increasing your weight.

Life Insurance Companies are interested in the regulation of weight for the simple and practical reason that they find a definite relationship between weight and mortality. Young people who are underweight and persons over 35 who are overweight have death rates above the average. On the basis of experience, Life Insurance Companies have prepared table of ideal weights which show the lowest mortality rates for various heights which is reproduced below:
