Exercise For Beauty
Ask medical experts to name one stay-young beauty strategy and there’s a good chance “exercise” will be the answer. And with good reason. Exercise, whether a gentle walk around the block or a full-tilt weight lifting session, strengthens the cardiovascular system, boosts circulation to the body and brain, revs up the metabolism, and burns calories. All of which give you vibrant skin, a toned body, graceful posture, and an attractive demeanor.
To be effective, exercise must be performed several times a week - a good workout won’t work for you if you only get to the gym once or twice. In the recent past, experts claimed moderate aerobic exercise, when performed for 20 to 60 minutes, three times a week, was enough to maintain fitness. After further research, experts at the American Heart Association, the Surgeon General’s office, and the Centers for Disease Control, now say aerobic exercise should be performed 5 to 7 days a week, along with at least two 30minute strengthening workouts per week.
Exercise improves your complexion by boosting circulation and raising body temperature, both of which nudge blood to your skin’s surface. This blood, carries oxygen and nutrients that keep your skin healthy and glowing.
By slowing cell degeneration and collagen breakdown, exercise also helps slow signs of skin aging, such as slackness and wrinkles.
